     John Marvin Pritchard and Rosa Elizabeth "Betty" Cole were divorced.1 John Marvin Pritchard married Rosa Elizabeth "Betty" Cole, daughter of Thomas Marvin Cole and Gladys Nellie Sears.3,4 John Marvin Pritchard was born on April 29, 1931.1 He died on October 17, 2010 at Virginia at age 79.1 He John Pritchard of Roanoke, Va., and formerly of Sumter, S.C., died on Sunday, October 17, 2010. He was 79. Born on April 29, 1931, he was a 22 year veteran of the United States Air Force, retiring as a Staff Sergeant. He served from 1947 until 1969, including deployment during the Korean War. John often referred to the men with whom he served as his brothers. John loved travel, both serving others as a bus driver and cruising with Barbara. He is survived by his beloved companion, Barbara; and grandson, Shawn; children, Lorrie and Donnie Danielson, Beth Pritchard, Carrie and Steve Woodruff, John Pritchard Jr., Debbie and Randy Van Dyke, Leo Pritchard, John Marvin Pritchard, Kevin and Vicky Pritchard, and Yvonne Hunter; a sister, Carolyn Ward; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his great caregivers, John and Sue McGuire, Joy Newton, Gary and Opel Bowden, and Jerry and Sue Newton. He will be sadly missed by Missy and Bingo. Visitation will be held 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, 2010, followed by a funeral service beginning 2 p.m. at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. The Rev. David Saville and the Rev. William Rogers will officiate. Full Military Honors will follow. The family would like to express its special thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice.
