He was the owner of the American Karate Academy in Lynchburg. He owned the first full-time Krate school in Lynchburg. He was a tenth degree Master Karate teacher and well respected by all under his instruction. Randy was a member of the American Karate Association, MENSA, Moose Lodge #715, and the Deora Cycling Confederation. He also taught canine behavior training in California. He was a former Lynchburg Police officer and later a manager with Lynchburg Training Center. In addition to his wife, Shirley, Randy is survived by one son, Randy Williams Carmine of Tampa, FL; one daughter, Whitney Williams of Lynchburg; one brother, Kip Daugherty of St. Peters, MS; two sisters, Tracy Daughtery of Charleston, WVa and Shelia Hartless of Pittsburgh. PA; one grandchild, Persephone Carmine. Randy is also survived many friends including, Jimmy Lee Horsley, Jerry Horsley, Carl Horsley, Richard Blankenship, Dennis Wright, Pete Hicks, and Kent Johnson. The family would like to thank Dr. Joseph Koury, and the nurses in Neurological Intensive Care, Jillian, Heather, Kristin, Gay, Kara Christy, Amanda and Darah for their love and outstanding care given to Randy. Interment will be in Fort Hill Memorial Park. on January 13, 2008.6

A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2007, at Whitten Monelison Chapel by the Rev. Jim Freeman and the Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzgerald. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Richard and Nancy Williams, 1037 Falling Rock Drive in Amherst County. He was born December 23, 1926 in Lynchburg to the late Richard Carrington and Gladys Stone Williams. He served in the United States Army and was a machinist for CSX Transportation. He was a member of the Curtis A. Smith Post 1033 Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, and the International Association of Machinists. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Marion Burley Williams of Wesgate, Clifton Forge; a step daughter, Nancy Arritt and husband Robert of Daleville; four step sons, Jay Campbell and wife Laura of Covington, Forrest Campbell and wife Sue of Ridgeley, WV, Rock Campbell of Clifton Forge, and Stoney Campbell and wife Yvonne of Vinton; a sister, Ethel Childress of Clarksville, TN; ten step grandchildren; two step great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Bill, Judy is survived by two sons, Bryan Simpson and his partner Andreas Namysl of Hockenheim, Germany , and Barry Simpson and his wife Michelle of Lynchburg; two granddaughters, Kayla Renee "Miss Munch" Simpson and Abbie Michelle "Miss Pooh" Simpson; and a sister Elizabeth Anne "Sissy" Richardson and her husband Jerry. Judy is also survived by her favorite cat, Kitty Kitty. A celebration of Judy's life will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 19, 2011 at Mountain View Church of God.
