She was born April 24, 1908 in Letohatchee, Alabama, the daughter of James Butler Mitchell and Wilmer Rogers Mitchell. Anita lived most of her life in Durham. She was educated in Alabama and was a graduate of the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa. She was a member or former member of Duke Memorial United Methodist Church, Hope Valley Country Club, a sustaining member of The Durham Junior League, Hope Valley Garden Club, The Up To Date Club and Alpha Omega Sorority. Her favorite pastime was playing bridge with her dear friends and working in her yard. She was a loyal Duke Football fan only missing two home games in 67 years. She is survived by her devoted and loving children, Herschel A. Caldwell and wife, Mary John of Durham, and Carol Caldwell Venters of Hubert. Other survivors include her four beloved grandchildren, Lara Venters Raban and husband, Gerry of Albuquerque, NM, Anita Gayle Venters Swayne and husband, David of Winston-Salem, Lee Wade Caldwell and James Best Caldwell, both of Wilmington; five great-grandchildren, Karl, Lindsay, and Billy Raban and Katie and Bradley Swayne. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Herschel Amos Caldwell Sr. on April 26, 2011.1

W., Roanoke, Virginia.1 He was born on December 21, 2007 at Roanoke, Virginia.3 He died on July 14, 2011 at Charlottesville, Virginia, at age 3.1 He Kayden James Barnes, 3, of Roanoke, passed away early Thursday morning, July 14, 2011. He had been fighting a tough battle with a heart condition, he was awaiting a heart transplant at the University of Virginia. Kayden touched many peoples lives, the first thing people noticed about him were his beautiful big green eyes and long eyelashes. He enjoyed watching cartoons his favorites were Spongebob Squarepants, Team Umizoomi and Mickey Mouse. His favorite toys were fire trucks, Hot Wheels and helicopters. He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather, Clyde S. Hall. He is survived by his mommy, Misty Ferris; daddy, Philip Barnes; older sister, Alexis Barnes; his two younger brothers, Tavion Barnes and Isaiah Barnes; and cousins, Lyndsee Hall, Nana, Joann Ferris and Paw-Paw, Philip Barnes. He is also survived by his loving aunts and uncles. Kayden was a joy to be around. He loved giving thumbs up and high fives. He always had a smile on his face no matter what he faced. He was truly a one of a kind child and he will be greatly missed and never forgotten. Funeral Services will be held at noon on Monday, July 18, 2011, at Oakey's North Chapel with Pastor Dan Netting officiating. The interment will follow in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park. The family will be receiving friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 17, 2011, at the funeral home. on July 16, 2011.1

She was born February 3, 1988. Misty was a phone banker with Wells Fargo. She dedicated much of her life consoling families of children with heart defects after the loss of her son Kayden Barnes in 2011. She was a devoted mother and dedicated her life to her children. Leaving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Alexis Barnes; her sons, Tavion & Isaiah Barnes and Elijah Lanham; her mother, Joann Ferris; her older brother Billy Ferris (Bambi); her older sister Heather Draper (Will); and Misty’s numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, William Ferris and son, Kayden Barnes. The family wishes to thank the paramedics and doctors. Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 1, 2020, the family will be receiving guests from 4pm-7pm at Oakey’s North Chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at 12pm at Oakey‘s North Chapel. Pastor Steve Russell officiating with burial to follow at Cedar Lawn Memorial Park.2 She was born on February 3, 1988.2 She died on December 27, 2019 at Virginia at age 31.2

"Bill" Harry Jr. was born on January 30, 1940 at Suffolk, Virginia.3,2 He died on September 4, 2009 at Virginia at age 69.3,2 He Colonel William (Bill) T. Harry Jr. (USAF, retired) passed away September 4, 2009 after a long illness. Born in Suffolk, Va., Col. Harry graduated from high school in Edenton, N.C. He received his B.A. degree in history from North Carolina Wesleyan College and his Masters from Central Michigan University. His distinguished military career of 29 years included flying over 7,000 hours with 257 combat missions in Southeast Asia as a B-52 radar navigator. His decorations include the Distinguished Flying Cross, the Legion of Merit, the Meritorious Service Medal, 13 Air Medals and three Air Force Commendation Medals. Following his retirement from the Air force, he worked for the Virginia Department of Veterans Services, retiring as a Regional Manager in 2005. Col. Harry was actively involved in numerous capacities in the VFW Post #4389, the Air Force Association, the Valley Veterans Council and the Military Officers Association of America. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Salem. Bill was preceded in death by his father, William T. Harry Sr., a former Floyd County High School principal, and his mother, Esther Parks Harry . He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linda West Harry ; his daughter, Suzanne Cipolla, her husband, Rob, and their children, David and Caroline, of Richmond, Va; and his son, David Harry and his fiance, Linda Arnold, of Flemington, N. J. Bill is also survived by his sister, Nancy Lewis and her husband, Otis, of Lebanon, Ohio; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Esther West, of Roanoke; and sisters-in-law, Joan West Bork and her husband, Casey, of Whitehouse Station, N.J. and Becky West Smythers and her husband, Clyde, of Blacksburg, Va. He also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. During his five years battling multiple myeloma/amyloidosis, Bill showed amazing strength and resilience, while never complaining. A gracious, kind gentleman, he will be greatly missed. Although Bill enjoyed numerous hobbies and interests, his lifelong passion was military history, specifically, World War II and military aircraft. A Celebration of Life Memorial will be held Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Oakeys South Chapel, Roanoke, at 4 p.m. Visitation will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., prior to the service. Burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery (date to be announced). In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, P. O. Box 4072, Pittsfield, MA 01202 and (888) 773-9958. on September 7, 2009.2
