Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Allen) Pratt, Sacramento, Calif; three brothers, Stanley (Phyllis) Allison, Paxton, whom Mrs. King raised from age 2; Dennis Allison, Troy, Texas; and Howard Roberts, Delta, Colo; seven grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren. Howard Lee Roberts of Delta, CO passed away in the early hours of June 30, 2014. Mr. Roberts was married to Wilma Jean Schendel in Danville, IL in 1946. She preceded him in death in 2009. He retired from the United States Air Force at McDill AFB, FL in September 1962. Mr. Roberts received a Bronze Star for service in the European Theater Operations at the Battle of the Bulge with the 101st Airborne Division. For many years, he also carried his HAM radio license and enjoyed collecting scale model railroad trains. He was born in Oakwood, Il to Elmer and Arminta Lane Roberts on April 8, 1920 where he spent his childhood. Joining the military upon leaving high school. He is survived by his niece, Marcia King (Allen) Pratt, of Sacramento, CA who last visited him in October 2013 and Sister-in-Law, Phyllis (Stan) Allison of Paxton, IL. Mr. Roberts was also preceded in death by his parents, his only sister, Ruth King, brothers, Richard "Dale" Roberts USN Retired, Clarence Roberts USAF Retired, Stanley Allison, Dennis Allison and John Robert Allison Fox.3 He was born on April 8, 1920 at Oakwood, Vermilion Co., Illinois.2,3 He married Wilma Jean Schendel in 1946 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.3 Howard Lee Roberts died on June 30, 2014 at Colorado at age 94.2,3

She loved people and God’s creatures. A recent quote by Joyce: “All animals fascinate me.The intelligence and heart of the elephant has intrigued me since I was a child. I had a horse as a young girl and into my teenage years. I rode bareback and loved it. I’m happy to see my girls riding and loving their horses. Penny, my cat is my best buddy now.” She was employed by the State of Iowa, and Des Moines Area Religious Council. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, O.E. and Bertha Richardson, husband Jack Beaman, husband Lester Wilson, her brother Casey, sister Elaine and sons-in-law Chuck Hoffa and Bruce Kuehl. She is survived by her children: Jackie Kuehl of Urbandale, Cindy Hamilton (Monte) of Indianola, and Jodi Beaman of Des Moines; 6 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, all residing in Iowa. The family sends a special thanks to the staff at Johnston Hospice House for their special care of our loved one. Burial at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Des Moines. on August 7, 2020.3
