Mrs. Poff is survived by her husband, one son, Clyde Poff, of Texas, and five daughters, Mrs. Josephine Marlett of Council Grove, Mrs. Wallace Thomas, Mrs. John Kline, and Miss Elaine Poff, of Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Everett Atkison of White City. There are also several grandchildren. Burial was made in Texas. on January 3, 1951.5

During her adult life, Gladys lived in Kansas City and later moved to Visalia, CA. She returned to her hometown of White City in the mid '80's. Gladys was mother to four children: Glenn Richardson and wife Pat, Australia, Gloria Musolf, Hanford, CA, Jonell Gauss, Philadelphia, PA, and J-me LaQuet and husband Von, Oak Harbor, WA. Gladys married Russel Sanford in White City, Sept, 19, 1995, where she lived until she moved to Oak Harbor, WA about five years ago. Gladys was a lifetime member of White City United Methodist Church, an active member of Eastern Star, and belonged to Christmas Club. She enjoyed doing home crafts, she loved to be around her friends and family as much as she could be. she was caring and thoughtful when it came to people that she met in life. Preceding her in death were husband Russel Sanford in April 2001, both parents, and all siblings: Mildred Thomas, Clyde Poff, Ethel Atkinson, Josephine Barnes, Elaine Williams, a grandson, a great grandson, and a great granddaughter. Survivors include all four of her children, sixteen grandchildren, twenty-six great grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, including Judy Paige and husband Bill, and step-daughter Lela Engel and husband Jim of White City, and a host of friends. on October 2, 2012.3

Brown on February 10, 1895 at Coffeyville, Montgomery Co., Kansas; Both obituaries have a marriage year of 1895 in Independence, KS.3,4,5 Amanda Jane Poff Mrs. Amanda Jane Brown, 69, wife of F. A. Brown, died unexpectedly today following a heart attack in the Union station, Kansas City. Mrs. Brown left Parsons early today for Kansas City to visit her daughter and family. Although full details had not been received here, apparently death came immediately upon her arrival there. She had been in her usual health before leaving home. Mrs. Brown was born Amanda Jane Poff, Dec. 4, 1875, in Waubansee county, Kas., and when she was about 13 years old her parents moved to near Bartlett where she grew into womanhood. She later made her home in Coffeyville and worked as a dressmaker. She was married to Fred A. Brown Feb. 10, 1895, at Independence. They moved to Parsons in November, 1900, and have since made their home here. The family home is at 3124 Clark. Mr. Brown is a well known stonemason and contractor. Besides her husband she is survived by two daughters Mrs. Karl Thieme, Kansas City: Mrs. Wilbur Swenson, Clay Center; three sons Clarence L., Parsons; Merl M. Coffeyville; Vernon W., Wichita; 16 grandchildren; one great grandchild; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Elmore and Mrs. Effie Tschan, both of Tacoma, Wash., and Mrs. Jonathan Ekstrand, Bell Flower, Cal; and one brother Henry Poff, Tacoma, Wash. The bodv will be returned to Parsons tonight and will lie in state at the Rude Funeral home. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. on May 5, 1945.5 She died on May 5, 1945 at Parsons, Labette Co., Kansas, at age 69.4
