Dodd was a member of the Capitol District Funeral Director's Association, and the State and National Association of Funeral Directors. He was a member of the First Advent Christian Church in Fayetteville. Dodd was affiliated with the Lafayette Lodge No. 57, Ancient Free and Accepted Masons; The Fayetteville Order of the Eastern Star No. 115, and was a 32nd degree Mason. He was a member of the Royal Arch Masons of Thurmond, Commandry No. 22, Knight's Templar in Mount Hope, the Scottish Rite in Charleston, Beni Kedem Temple of Charleston, the Fayetteville Shrine Club, the Knights of Pythias Lodge No. 17 at Oak Hill, the Knights of Khoreassar No. 20 of Charleston and the Fayetteville Rotary Club. Survivors include his wife, Allie M. Dougherly Dodd; three daughters, Mrs. Thelma Payne and Mrs. Virginia Clinebell, both of Fayetteville; Mrs. Grace Geary of Dunbar; two sons, Charles E. of Webster Springs and Chauncey H. of Fayetteville; one brother, George Edward of Walton; three sisters, Mrs. Ida Robinson, Mrs. Laura Hively and Mrs. Ollie Vinyard, all of Walton; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at the First Adventist Church in Fayetteville at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. William H. Hankins officiating, assisted by the local pastors. Burial will follow in the Huse Memorial Park at Fayetteville. Graveside rites will be conducted by the Lafayette Lodge No. 37. The Fayetteville Order of Eastern Star will serve as pallbearers. The body is at the Fidler and Frame Funeral Home at Belle and will be removed to the Dodd-Payne Mortuary in Fayetteville at 11 a.m. Saturday. The body will remain at the Fayetteville Funeral home and will be removed to the church one hour prior to the services. on March 23, 1956.7
