She was also preceded in death by her husband, Mark Richards Lloyd III; and a brother, Phillip Martin. Barbara was a wife, mother and homemaker. She was very active in her community, volunteering with RSVP, CASA, Girl Scouts, and many others. She loved to travel and was even a tour guide and a travel agent for some time. She enjoyed participating in local theater and plays, and loved music and painting. She studied homeopathy, had a love for animals, and was a member of Unity of Roanoke Valley Church. She is survived by her children, Mark Richards Lloyd IV, of Danville, Samuel Wickham Lloyd and wife, Nicole, of Christiansburg, and Valerie Leigh Lloyd, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, William McKinley, Rachel Erin, and Allison Claire Lloyd, all of Christiansburg; sister, Katherine Elizabeth (Betty) Hanbury, of Christiansburg; niece, Beth Cornish; nephew, Martin Hanbury; the Heavener, the Hanbury, and the Graham families; her cats, Cotton and Ramie; and friends, Thelma, Judy, Millie, DeVere, and Florence. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Humane Society of Montgomery County or WVTF Public Radio. The family will receive friends Monday, May 16, 2011, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011, from the chapel of Horne Funeral Home officiated by the Rev. Dan Holloway. on May 15, 2011.2
