Steve was a volunteer with Read Mountain Volunteer Fire Department for many years. There he earned the nickname “Thor”. He worked as a heavy equipment operator for Titan America (Roanoke Cement) for twenty seven years where he made lifelong friendships. Surviving is his wife, Sherri Luckado Bailey; sons, Coty Bailey and Jeremy Bailey; daughter, Kelsey Luckado; mother-in-law, Betty Rotenberry; brother-in-law, Jesse Luckado (Karyn); one niece and two nephews; and friends too numerous to mention.
