She was preceded in death by her parents; Charles Edward Bean and Emma Woods Bean, and her first husband; Walter Gilmore. She is survived by her husband; Maurice Smith; sister; Frances Shelton, sister-in-law; Goldie Bean, step-daughter and her husband; Anna and Steve Millirons and her precious step-granddaughter; Rachel. Ellen is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Ellen and Maurice both volunteered for the R.S.V.P. where they met and started dating and then married. Ellen was a member of Edgemont Christian Church and she loved to travel. Ellen was employed by Thompson Hangan Drug Store in Christiansburg for many years.      Michael Terry Johnson Michael "Mike" Terry Johnson, of Christiansburg, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2017. Mike was born on June 19, 1955 to the late Madeline and Aaron Johnson. He was also preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Barry Worth. Left to cherish Mike’s memory are his daughter, Amanda (Brian) Musselman; granddaughter, Ashlyn Musselman; sisters, Sue (Darrell) Rowland, Glenda (Raymond) Thornton, Deborah Johnson, and Connie Worth; brother, Tim (Wanda) Johnson; several nieces and nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and Judy Kerr, mother of his child. In addition, Mike will be missed by numerous friends from childhood, career, and community. Mike was an avid UVA Wahoo, Washington Redskin and St. Louis Cardinal fan. His love of sports led him to coach girls softball for several years. Mike worked at Verizon for 30 years, was a committed member of the community and was very active with the Christiansburg Jaycees. Above all, he was a loving father, brother, uncle, and grandfather.
