He will be missed and remembered by his wife, Irene (Jarboe) Kelley of Modesto, California; daughters and son-in-law, Beth and David Cover, Mary Kelley, Sharon Kelley all of Modesto, California; grandchildren, Aaron, John, Sarah, Stephen Cover; sisters and brothers-in-law Myrna and Ferrell Nachatelo of Mauston, Wisconsin, Beth and Tim Witmer of Goshen, Indiana, Ann and Kurt Wolf of Arcanum. Interment following in Gettysburg Cemetery. on September 26, 2014.2

Hartwell on December 23, 1939 at Bluefield, Tazewell Co., Virginia.2,4 Emma Kelly died on May 14, 1966 at Largo, Pinellas Co., Florida.4 She Mrs. Emma Stapelton Hartwell, 71, of 230 Emerald Lane, died Saturday at Sun Coast Osteopathic Hospital here. A native of McDowell County, W.Va., she came here seven years ago from Bishop, Va. She was a member the Largo Methodist Church, the Women's Christian Temperance Union, and Rebekah Lodge No. 18, IOOF, Bishop. Survivors include her husband, Chester Hartwell, Weston, W.Va; a son, Herman Stapelton, Largo; four grandchildren; a brother, John M. Kelly Jr., Largo, and two sisters, Mrs. Cora Cannaday and Mrs. T. M. Whittington, both of Pocahontas, Va. on May 15, 1966.4

She was of the Presbyterian faith. She was a Rebekah Lodge No. 18 of Bishop, Va. Survivors include one daughter, Ljnda H. Beane of Bluefield, one brother, John Martin Kelly Jr; and two granddaughters, Sally Andrea Beane and Linda Sue Heinz. Burial will follow in Walnut Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include George Trent, Robbv Linkous, Allen Meadows, Joel Duvall, John Hoge and Doug Sarver. on June 17, 1979.3
