Burial in the St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery in Amelia. He is survived by his wife, Mary E. Rogers Daigle of Baytown; a son, Stephen Daigle of Bayou Vista; a daughter, Sara Marie Daigle of Baytown; his parents, Earl Daigle Sr. and Ann Hebert Daigle of Chacahoula; a sister, Linda Simmons of Bayou Vista; three brothers, Earl J. Daigle Jr. and Jimmy Luke Daigle, both of Bayou and Anthony Paul Daigle of Chacahoula. on June 20, 1994.1

     Samuel James Lackey and Polly Ann Hale were divorced.1 Samuel James Lackey was born on October 26, 1932 at Roanoke, Virginia.1,2,3 He married Polly Ann Hale, daughter of Charles Edward "Shine" Hale and Bessie Lee Pruett, on October 28, 1952 at Franklin Co., Virginia.1 Samuel James Lackey died on July 23, 2016 at Virginia at age 83.3 He Samuel James Lackey, age 83, died Saturday, July 23, 2016, at home with his loving family by his side. He was born October 26, 1932, in Roanoke and came to Norton in 1971, where he resided for the past 45 years. He started his career in communications with Western Electric for 17 1/2 years. He worked for and retired from Bell Atlantic and was very active with the Telephone Pioneers. Sam served as a Scout Master in Roanoke in the late 1950's and later as a Scout Leader when his sons came of age. He loved teaching the boys scouting skills such as camping, cooking, and pioneer skills. He enjoyed gardening, was an avid reader, and devoted friend, loving husband and father. He served as corporal with the 11th Airborne in Korea, in the 1950's. He was proud to have been a Senior Parachutist and Red Hat Rigger. Flying out of Japan, he was involved in aerial supply drops in Korea. He had lifetime memberships in various associations, including the 11th and 82nd Airborne. Sam served as Commander of the Norton VFW 4301 for seven years. He loved showing respect to his comrades. He was proceeded in death by his son, Robert Douglas Lackey; mother and father, Elsie and Hunter Lackey; sister, Ethel Jackson; and brother, William Lackey. Sam is survived by his devoted wife, Joyce Snodgrass Lackey; two sons, Hunter and wife, Teresa, of Dendron, and Vincent Lackey of Stuart; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Pa Sam", and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Military rites will be performed immediately following the funeral by Virginia National Guard Funeral Honors Team and local veterans groups. on July 25, 2016.3

     Jack Raffensberger Jr. Jack Raffensberger, Jr., 62, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2021 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial, Roanoke, VA due to complications from Mantel Cell and T cell Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma and recently was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. Jack was born on 01-02-1959, in Girard, PA, the son of Jack, Sr. and Janet (Hayes) Raffensberger. Preceding him in passing: Parents: Jack and Janet Raffensberger, Paternal Grandparents, Raymond and Evelyn (Daggett) Raffensberger, Maternal Grandparents, Robert and Thelma (Lawrence) Hayes, and a uncle, Jerry Raymond Raffensberger. Jack graduated from Girard High School, class of 1977. Following graduation, Jack worked for the Girard School District for 29 years, and continued his hard work ethics with the Montgomery County School District until his diagnosis with Lymphoma in June, 2020. Survivors include his loving wife (Cristal Huff Raffensberger) Cristal’s children and Papa’s Jack’s grandchildren: Cristy (Keith) Keiper, grandchildren, Zachary Huff and Kaylin Keiper of Dublin, VA and Sabrina (Andy) Rutledge and grandson, Colton of Narrows, VA. Jack’s daughter Alicia Raffensberger Tellers (Michael) and Papa Jack’s grandchildren, Anthony, Owen and Cecilia Tellers of Erie, PA. Jack is also survived by his six siblings: Debra (Thomas) Karwoski, Sue (Paul) Frey, Sandy, Karen, Sheri Raffensberger and his brother, Jeffrey (Denise) Raffensberger. Survived also by many nieces and nephews, as well as his Uncle & Aunt, Richard and (Dottie) Hayes of Albion, PA. Jack was mostly known for his quick wit and big heart to all those he was in contact with, especially the special needs students. Jack was one of the “Good Guys”, always positive and happy-go-lucky! He will forever be loved and cherished through the countless (funny) memories we have all made with him throughout the years.2 He was born on January 2, 1959 at Girard, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania.2 He married Cristal Kay Nichols, daughter of Junior Allen Nichols and Vioma Lee Hale, on June 27, 2010 at Virginia Beach, Virginia.1,2 Jack Raffensberger Jr. died on January 30, 2021 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 62.2

     Barbara Ann Leonard was buried at Gray Family Cemetery, Chamblissburg, Bedford Co., Virginia.4 She was born on September 26, 1952 at Roanoke, Virginia.3 As of January 7, 1997,her married name was Hale.1 She married Ricky Lane Hale, son of Frank Wilson Hale Jr. and Lillie Belle "Linda" Howard, on January 7, 1997 at Roanoke, Virginia.1 Barbara Ann Leonard and Ricky Lane Hale were divorced on March 22, 2002 at Bedford Co., Virginia.2 Barbara Ann Leonard died on June 6, 2016 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 63.4 She Barbara Leonard Hale, 63, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Monday, June 6, 2016. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Mose E. and Clara S. Leonard; brothers, Ed and Freeman Leonard; and sisters, Mavis Dowell, Iris DeWeese and Charlotte Brown. Left to cherish her memory are two brothers, Charlie M. Leonard and Tony V. Leonard; and three sisters, Elizabeth G. Leonard, Patricia G. Leonard and Martha R. Leonard.
