Dolores Jean Stritesky, 89, of Roanoke, Va., went to be with the Lord on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She and her husband, Ed, were owners of Stritesky's Flower Shop for 44 years. She loved owls, collecting antiques and was an excellent artist. Jean's bookshelf covered an entire wall at her house of all the books she had read. The book she loved most of all was the Bible reading it once per year every year as long as we can all remember. She loved traveling the world and sharing these trips with members of her family. She delivered Meals on Wheels and donated to various charities. Before she ran her business with her late husband, she taught Awana and Bible School. Her profession was a Court Reporter and a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused or neglected children. Jean attended First Baptist Church downtown and was an exemplary Christian. Jean will be sadly missed by all. She loved her family and was kind and generous to all that came into her orbit. Surviving are her two sons, Bruce (Teresa) and Jeff; four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Ashley, Sawyer, and Jacob; and three siblings, Mike, Robert, and Susie. The family would like to recognize everything Susie did for her sister. She was always by Jean's side helping her and providing care. A Graveside Service will be held at the Peters Creek Cemetery. on February 1, 2024.7
