She was a member of the Radford Worship Center. She was preceded in death by her husband, Everett Richards, Sr., a brother, Lacy Pannell, and two sisters, Irene Richards and Ernestine Harris. Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Glenda and Jerry Hopkins of Parrott, Sandra and Pete Blackburn of Dublin, Brenda (Jeannie) and the late Richard Phillips of Radford, and Carolyn and Ray Prater of Hopewell; two sons and daughters-in-law, Eddie and Sherry Richards of Dublin, and Doug and Kristi Richards of Radford; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren; a sister and brother-in-law, Frankie and Don Roop of Radford; and a sister-in-law, Mildred Pannell of Charlotte, NC. Interment will follow in the Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin. on January 28, 2006.⁴

He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force and an employee of Corning Glass, Inc. He was preceded in death by his father, Joyce Fitzhugh Phillips.
