Perkins, 63, Garden City, Mo. and formerly of Marshalltown, died Sunday, Feb. 12 at her home. Services were Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Creighton, Mo. with the Rev. Jeffrey E. Moneruon officiating. Burial was in the Garden City Cemetery in Garden City, Mo. Mrs. Perkins was born Oct. 18, 1925 at Buckeye to James Usher and Martha Thedora Munson Nehring. She attended school in Hubbard and spent most of her life in Marshalltown where she was a registered nurse. On Feb. 8, 1947 she married Leo Marvin Perkins. She was the owner of the Flamingo Motel in Marshalltown. In 1978 the family moved to Harrisonville, Mo. and purchased the Slumber Inn Motel. She moved to Garden City, Mo. in 1984. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church at Creighton, Mo. and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary in Harrisonville. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her husband, Leo, Garden City, Mo; a son, Hal, Harrisonville, Mo; two grandchildren; one brother, Dan Nehring, Pleasant Grove, Utah; three sisters, Jimmeite Drier, Hubbard, Junace Brandt, Branson, Mo. and Ellen Marie Megan, Cedar Rapids. on February 20, 1989.1

Griffin and Beerbower, who was sitting next to her, were thrown out. Neither wore seat belts. A second passenger, Thomas Gausvik, 35, was injured. Investigators said Griffin had been drinking. on January 4, 2004.4
