Loyd Miller officiating. Burial will be at Wylie Chapel Cemetery in Monroe County. on June 6, 1960.5

Born Sept. 18, 1916, in Monroe County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Oscar Benton and Cora Edith Burns Elmore of Monroe County. Mrs. Hedrick married Mr. Robert T. Hedrick of Alderson on April 17, 1940, and together they moved to Newport News, Va., in 1942. They resided in Copeland Park and Mr. Hedrick became a welder at the Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock Company. In 1948, Mrs. Hedrick gave birth to their only child. She was a homemaker and mother as well as a part-time employee of Mr. Stafford Wooten at his shoe stores at the Broadway and Dunhill Shoes in Newport News and the Shoe Box in Hampton, Va. Mrs. Hedrick was a member of the Parkview Baptist Church, Newport News, Va. Following the death of her husband in 1999, Mrs. Hedrick returned to West Virginia to be with family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Robert T. Hedrick; three sisters, Delores E. Boyce of Union, W.Va., Danese E. Saunders of Ronceverte, W.Va., Gay E. Dalton of Tazwell, Va; and four brothers, Theodore R. Elmore, Walter B. Elmore, Gordon H. Elmore, all of Monroe County and Oscar B. "Bernie" Elmore of Monroe County and Waynesboro, Va. Mrs. Hedrick is survived by her loving daughter, Barbara J. Hedrick of Gap Mills, W.Va., and three sisters, Rosie Wickline of Union, W.Va., Mattie Wykle of Ronceverte, W.Va., and Betty Trent of Second Creek, W.Va., as well as numerous Elmore/Burns nieces, nephews and cousins in Monroe and Greenbrier counties. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 20, at the Old Greenbrier Baptist Church, Alderson, W.Va., with the Rev. Connie Bowles and Rev. Alvie Edwards officiating. Burial will be at the Alderson Cemetery beside her husband with a beautiful 360-degree view of their beloved Appalachian Mountains. Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 19, at the Lobban Funeral Home, Alderson, W.Va., and may call one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday. Mrs. Hedrick will be sadly missed by family and friends alike, but she will be met by many other family and friends on the other side, and a tall, handsome, gentle man in a golf cart who has been waiting three years to see her again. on November 20, 2002.5
