     Samuel Jay Pilson Samuel Jay Pilson, 55, of Bassett, VA, died Monday, April 13, 2015, at his residence. He was born in Martinsville, VA on November 8, 1959 to Glen Julian Pilson and Mary Gauldin Pilson. In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Tristan Pilson. Sam was a Firefighter for 25 years with Bassett Volunteer Fire Department where he also served as Fire Chief for many years. He also served on the Henry County Board of Supervisors for the Blackberry District as Vice Chairman. Sam owned Pilson’s Auto and Salvage and was currently employed at Mehler Engineered Products as Occupational Safety and Health Manager. He loved Philpott Lake, took great joy in his nieces, nephews and god-daughters, and was a strong advocate for education.3 He was born on November 8, 1959 at Martinsville, Virginia.1,2,3 He married Edith Shawn Prillaman, daughter of Alton Wythe Prillaman and Ruth Louise Howell, on August 9, 1980 at Henry Co., Virginia.1 Samuel Jay Pilson died on April 13, 2015 at Bassett, Henry Co., Virginia, at age 55.3

He was born on August 5, 1996 in Eden, N.C., the son of Sam Pilson and Shawn Prillaman Pilson, both of the home. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Glenn Julian Pilson and Mary G. Pilson. Tristan was a fourth grade student at Sanville Elementary School, attended Orchard Drive Baptist Church, and he was an honorary member of the Bassett Volunteer Fire Department. When he was healthy, he played soccer and football, and participated in karate and skateboarding. He had a love of all music and played the guitar. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandparents, Alton Wythe Prillaman and Ruth Howell Prillaman, both of Wirtz, Va. The funeral service will be held Thursday, December 8, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Orchard Drive Baptist Church, Bassett, Va. with the Revs. Michael Harrison, Lew Bennett and Dr. Joan Fisher officiating. Interment will follow at Old Center Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, Bassett, Va. on December 7, 2005.4

Those left to cherish her wonderful memory are four sons, Donald Eric Craig (1980-2013) and his wife, Jennifer of NC., Darrell Thompson and his companion, Becky Cline of Clear Fork, David Thompson and his fiancé, Amanda Lusk of Beckley and Dewayne Craig and his companion, Terry of Bolt; a daughter, Donna Lea Craig-Auten and her husband, Greg of GA; two brothers, Raymond Belcher Jr. and his wife, Marcia of OH and Dewayne Belcher and his wife, Debra of Clear Fork; a granddaughter, Megan Elswick of Clear Fork; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. A celebration of Carol's life will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Clear Fork Independent Church of God with Rev. Hannibal Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Craig Family Cemetery, Clear Fork. on January 30, 2006.3

     Steven A. Craig was born on August 2, 1952 at Princeton, Mercer Co., West Virginia.2 He died on January 17, 2016 at Gaylord, Otsego Co., Michigan, at age 63.2 He Craig, Steven A. - Age 63, of Wolverine, passed away on Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Otsego Memorial Hospital in Gaylord. Born in Princeton, WVA on August 2, 1952, Steve was the son of James Ray Sr. and Margaret Alice (Howell) Craig. In 1964 the family moved to Lapeer, MI and he graduated from Lapeer High School in 1970. A longtime resident of Mt. Morris, Steve worked for GTE in Davison. In 1999 he moved to Wolverine and continued to work with GTE in Gaylord which later became Verizon and eventually Frontier. He has been a member of the IBEW union brotherhood for more than 30 years. Steve was an avid hunter and fisherman and he enjoyed playing softball. He loved following University of Michigan sports and the Detroit Tigers, rarely missing a televised game. Steve is survived by his sons, Garrett Craig of Wolverine and James (Jennifer) Craig of Fort Worth, TX; grandchildren, Sean, Samantha, Paisley and James IV; sisters, Marie (Jim) Simpson of Flint, Cathy Craig of Lapeer and Kim (Tony) Lock of Indian River; brothers, Jeff (Debra) Craig of Afton, Matt (Terry) Craig of Columbiaville and Mike (Terri) Craig of Caro as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James Craig Jr. on January 21, 2016.2
