     Martin Luther Dyk was buried at High Valley Memorial Park, Ellensburg, Kittitas Co., Washington.4 He was born on October 31, 1922 at Manhattan, Gallatin Co., Montana.2,5,4 He married Frances Enola Whited, daughter of Hugh Oliver Whited and Gladys Enola Drohman, on November 17, 1946 at Kittitas Co., Washington.1,4 Martin Luther Dyk died on June 14, 2007 at Kittitas Co., Washington, at age 84.5,3,4 He Martin Dyk entered the presence of his Lord and Savior on June 14, 2007, following a short illness. He was born in Manhattan Montana on October 31, 1922 to Bert and Anna Dyk. He was one of thirteen children. When he was 19 he moved with his family to the badger pocket area in the Kittitas valley to farm. He met and married his neighbor and best friend Frances Whited on November 17th 1946. He and Frances farmed and operated a dairy on the Thorp highway for over 30 years. After they sold the cows they continued to farm until his retirement in 1991. In his retirement he enjoyed working in his apple orchard, helping his children on their farms, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a lifelong member of the Ellensburg Christian and Missionary Alliance Church. He was area director of the Northwest Dairy Association for 20 years and a school board member for the Thorp School District for 20 years. He is survived by his wife Frances Dyk of Ellensburg, son Dale and Joanne Dyk of Ellensburg, son Don and Alice Dyk of Quincy, daughter Vicky Machorro of Ellensburg, daughter Susie and Mark Greene of Asotin WA. He is also loved by his grandchildren, Sherry and Grant Enfield, Larry and Cheri Dyk, Nathan and Tracy Dyk, Erin and Josh Bender, Cassie and Jonathan Coats, Michael Machorro, Hannah Greene, Jesse Greene, Patti and Mark Weishaar, Jeff Oleson, and five great grand daughters, Quincy and Reagan Bender, Abby and Olivia Dyk, and Alyssa Dyk. He is also survived by his sisters Nettie Miller, Lucille Morgan, Ruth Johnson, Esther Stout, Rhoda Ensign, Dorothy Moulton, and a brother Bob Dyk. A tribute to his life will be held at 2:00pm on Monday June 18th at the Ellensburg Christian Missionary Alliance Church. A graveside service will follow at High Valley Memorial Cemetery. on June 16, 2007.4

Carole was a native of Montcoal, W.Va., a member of Jolliff United Methodist Church, and had been active in the Church Council and Youth & Children Program. Mrs. Martin was predeceased by her husband, Roger Martin; her mother, Rachel Foster; a sister, Elizabeth Foster; and a brother, Jim Foster. Survivors include her father, David Foster; four daughters, Jeanne Moore and husband William of Chesapeake, Kathy Polston and special friends, Mike Vedomske and Sarah of Portsmouth, Sandy Vance and husband Douglas of Chesapeake, Holly Carson and husband Tod Carson of Chesapeake; two brothers, Tom and Mark Foster of Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren, Duane Brandon and wife Stacey, Jonathan Moore, Jimmy Duke and wife Angel, Crystal Polston, Doug Vance, Kelly Polston, Jessica Moore, Amber Vance, Chris Carson, Catlyn Carson; two great-grandchildren, Taylor Richards and Regan Duke.
