Seth Warren Wilson Seth Warren Wilson, age 65 of Southport, North Carolina passed away on Sunday March 19, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. Seth is predeceased by his father Warren “Hank” Wilson, and is survived by his mother Geraldine “Geri” Wilson, sister Carola Keller and her husband Lamar of Savannah, Georgia. Seth is lovingly remembered by his wife of 36 years Denise Wilson along with their two adoring daughters Sarah Wilson of Los Angeles, California, and Katie Wilson of Santa Monica, California. Seth recently became a first-time grandfather to Sarah’s daughter Quinn Grace Johnston. Seth was born on June 13, 1951 in McCook, Nebraska, and grew up in Arlington, Virginia. He graduated from Washington and Lee High School in Arlington, VA and later earned his degree in Civil Engineering from Virginia Tech. After the completion of his studies at Virginia Tech, Seth began a challenging and very successful career that took him all over the world. Working on projects with the Army Corps of Engineers military construction program, Seth was the Construction Inspector at Walter Reed Medical Center and also at Ft. Sam Houston’s Brook Army Medical Center. He later became the medical facility construction project manager and NATO construction project manager for the Corps’ Europe division in Frankfurt, Germany, and followed as the medical program manager Headquarter Corps of Engineers in Washington, D.C. He later moved on to become the Corps of Engineers, Resident Engineer in Honolulu, Hawaii. After the completion of his work at the Army Corps of Engineers, Seth transferred agencies to work as the medical construction specialist for the US Army Surgeon General in Washington, D.C. Seth’s work allowed him and his loving family to travel extensively throughout the United States, Europe, Japan, and Korea. His colleagues and friends fondly attribute his career successes to his ability to work toward solutions in a calm, cooperative, and analytical manner. After retiring, Seth and Denise moved to Southport, North Carolina, where he enjoyed reconnecting with the things he loved the most: relaxing with his family, playing golf, and saving turtles. While in Southport, Seth also volunteered at the Brunswick County Habitat for Humanity showcasing his quick wit, self-effacing nature, sense of humor, and tireless effort to get the job done. He and Denise frequently visited their parents in Floyd, Virginia and Savannah, Georgia to offer love, encouragement and support. His mother could always count on him every month to climb up on the roof and brush away the pine needles.3 He was born on June 13, 1951 at McCook, Red Willow Co., Nebraska.1,2,3 He married Denise Lynette Slusher, daughter of Maurice Trent Slusher and Nadine Lumis Hale, on March 21, 1981 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1 Seth Warren Wilson died on March 19, 2017 at Brunswick Co., North Carolina, at age 65.3
