He was retired from the Fisher Body Coldwater Road, retiring after 30 years service in 1992. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother; and a sister. Survivors include his wife, Freda; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Jr. and Pam Woolwine, Kenneth and Jenny Woolwine and Keith and Heidi Woolwine; eight grandchildren, Billy III, Justin, Kendra, Nathan Danyell, Kassadra, Ryan, and Danial; four brothers, Randolph and Hazel of Matoaka, Paul and Ailene of Elkhart, Ind., Bobby and Kim of Flint, Mich., and Basil and Nancy of Otisville, Mich; three sisters, Sylvia Perkins of Flint, Peggy Vest of Elkhart, Ind., and Kathy and Jerry Kettle of Swartz Creek, Mich; and many, many friends. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, Oct. 14, at 1 p.m. at the Chapel Hill Assembly, 800 S. State Road, Vassar, Mich., with the Rev. Pete Inmari. Burial will follow at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. on October 13, 1998.³

She married Paul Perkins in 1950 and he preceded her in death in 1984. Sylvia was a nurturing woman who lovingly helped raise her younger siblings. After her marriage, she was devoted to her own children and family. Sylvia supported many people in her lifetime as a friend or confidant, loving them unconditionally. Surviving are her two sons, Douglas Perkins (Marsha) of Sherman, TX, Larry Perkins (Sheryl) of Flint; 11 grandchildren; brother, Basil Woolwine (Nancy) of Davison; sister, Kathleen Kettle of Swartz Creek. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Betty Perkins in 2002; and seven brothers and sisters. on March 1, 2014.³
