     Ralph Lawrence Allen was buried at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5250 Robert Centre Byrd Drive, Prosperity, Raleigh Co., West Virginia.2 He was born on November 30, 1921 at Glen Jean, Fayette Co., West Virginia.2 He married Betty Josephine Olzer, daughter of Julius C. Olzer and Sarah Ethel "Sallie" Light, on June 22, 1940 at Tazewell, Tazewell Co., Virginia.1,2,3 Ralph Lawrence Allen died on October 15, 2014 at West Virginia at age 92.2 He On Wednesday, Oct. 15th, 2014, Ralph Allen was welcomed into the Kingdom of Heaven. He was in his 92nd year. One of five children, Ralph Lawrence Allen was born on Nov. 30th, 1921, at Glen Jean. He was the son of Kyle Lewis and Edith Walters Allen Sr. Ralph’s sister, Evelyn Bragg, and brothers, Kyle Jr., Frederick and Robert, have preceded him in death. Ralph was a graduate of Oak Hill School, Class of 1941. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on the USS Jason, a maintenance ship in the South Pacific. A retired coal miner, Ralph was a faithful member of the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon and Trustee. Ralph had been a Boy Scout Leader. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 74 years, Josephine Olzer Allen. Ralph and Josephine have been longtime residents of the Bradley community. He was the dear father of Ralph Allen Jr. and his wife, Linda, of Forrest Hill, MD, Richard Allen of Hinton, Carol Parker and her husband, Clayton, of Bradley, Roger Allen of Beckley and Betty Tyree of Bradley. There are 15 grandchildren, a granddaughter, Novona Hacker, has passed away; 32 great-grandchildren, as well as eight great-great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews also survive. On Monday, Oct 20th, at 1 p.m. we will honor the life of Ralph Allen with a “Service of Remembrance” at the Bradley Freewill Baptist Church. Pastors Wayne Peters and Danny Legg will be officiating. Ralph will be laid to rest in the Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens at Prosperity with military honors. The family will receive friends from noon until the service hour. Mr. Allen’s grandsons will carry him to his final resting place. on October 19, 2014.2
