     Marion William Miller Funeral services for Marion (Trumpy) Miller, who died Feb 18, 1975 at Collins Memorial Hospital were held Feb. 20 from Arlington Chapel with Rev. Kenneth MacLeod officiating. Burial as in Graceland Cemetery under the direction of Evans-McCleery Funeral Service. Odd Fellow rites were accorded by Knoxville I.O.O.F. Lodge 90. Casketbearers were J.G. Guillion, Lester Dearinger, Howard Hunt, John Burnett, Raymond Shilling and Herman Roberts. Mrs. Lois Anderson was organist. Marion William, son of James F. and Cora Conrey Miller, was born Dec. 28, 1910 in Iowa County. He attended Knoxville public schools graduating fom high school in 1929. On Jan 12, 1932 he was united in marriage to Alpha Burch. He was employed by Natural Gas Pipeline in construction work prior to 1956. Later, he and his wife operated the Miller Mobile Home Park. His parents; one brother, Leroy; and an infant daughter, Cora Ann preceded him in death. Surviving are his wife; four daughters, Mrs. Marilyn Smith of Chariton, Mrs. Jim (Janice) Douglas of Corydon, Mrs. Ron (Linda) Rees and Mrs. Marvin (Colleen) Agan of Knoxville; and ten grandsons.2 He was buried at Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, Marion Co., Iowa.2 He was born on December 28, 1910 at Iowa Co., Iowa.2 He married Alpha Colleen Burch on January 12, 1932 at Indianola, Warren Co., Iowa.1,2 Marion William Miller died on February 18, 1975 at Knoxville, Marion Co., Iowa, at age 64.2

Miller was born Jan. 2, 1936 to Marion “Tumpy” and Alpha Burch Miller in Knoxville, Iowa. She was one of four children born to the couple. Marilyn was baptized at the Knoxville First Presbyterian Church on April 2, 1950. She grew up in Knoxville and graduated from Knoxville High School with the class of 1954. On July 17, 1955, Marilyn was united in marriage to Ken Smith. The couple was blessed with three boys: Mike, Mark, and Miles. Her sons were her pride and joy. The couple later separated. Marilyn was united in marriage to Jake Chandler on March 19, 1986 at the Little Brown Church. She happily became a stepmom to his children, Mark and Paula. Marilyn worked for Verizon Telephone Company for fifteen years and then for Dollar General for five years. Traveling with Jake in their RV was always something that Marilyn enjoyed. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards with her friends, and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her family was her world. Marilyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Chandler in 2007; her parents, Marion and Alpha; stepdaughter, Paula Morris; and infant sister. She will be greatly missed by her children: Mike (Susan) Smith, Mark (Shannon) Smith, and Miles (Karla) Smith; stepson, Mark (Becky) Chandler; 16 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; sisters: Janice Douglas, Linda Moser, and Colleen (Denny) McDonald; and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends. on January 23, 2018.3

He was a member of the Local UAW 997 Newton, Iowa. He was preceded in death by is wife of 38 years, Norma Jean, daughter, Cynthia, and siblings; Jack, Sue, and Ike. Jake is survived by his wife, Marilyn; son, Mark Chandler of Greeley, CO; daughter, Paula Morris of Chariton; step-sons, Mike Smith of Chariton, Mark Smith of Chariton, and Miles Smith of Indianola; 16 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; brother, Russ Chandler of Ottumwa; and a sister, JoAnn Nielsen of Chariton. on October 23, 2007.3
