The Celebration of Life Funeral Service was held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Immanuel Baptist Church of Shawnee. Brother Sam Hendry performed the service. Burial followed at Fairview Cemetery. On Feb. 6, 1926, Harvie was born to Harvie E. Markwell Sr. and Zeffie (Youngblood) Markwell in Seminole County. In 1930, he moved with his family to the Meeker area, where he attended school at Rich Hill, Lincoln County and Pleasant Hill in Pottawatomie County. On June 9, 1944, he married Erlene Terrell. As a young man, Harvie was farmer and dairyman in the Meeker community. Later he entered the construction business, primarily in the asphalt paving business. He owned operated Markwell Paving and Markwell Sand. Harvie enjoyed traveling and seeing different parts of the country and world. His favorite trips include hiking up and down the Grand Canyon with his son, Darrell, and his trip to the Holy Lands with his wife, Lorain. Besides his family and his work, his only other passion was reading and studying the Bible. Harvie attended Immanuel Baptist Church. Harvie married Lorain Wagstaff on April 20, 1972. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Elvan Christopher and Ernest Lewis; one sister, Lola Oneta Grubaugh. Surviving family members are his wife, Lorain Markwell, of the home; brother and sister-in-law, Vernon and Gail Markwell of Meeker; one son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Connie Markwell of Edmond; three daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Joe Johnson of Yukon, Joan Wagstaff and Jim Smith of Plano, Texas, Patty Wagstaff and Bruce Carlton of Shawnee; nine grandchildren, Damon Markwell of Yukon, Lindsey and Kyle Gothard of Yukon, Amy and Greg Feuerborn of Yukon, Joe and Christy Johnson of Spokane, Wash., Jessica, Zac and Veronica Wagstaff-Smith of Plano,Texas, Cameron Blass and Casey Carlton of Shawnee; great-grandchildren, Austin and Dakota Feuerborn, Braydon Markwell and Olivia Gothard, all of Yukon, Cash Johnson of Spokane; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Audie Pace of Dothan, Ala; many more extended family members and friends that were very special to him. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Baptist Church Building Fund. on April 11, 2006.4

Arrangements are by Schooler Funeral Home, 4100 S. Georgia St. Benny was born May 11, 1929, in Achille, Bryan County, Okla., to Victor Lynn and Bessie Cole Hargis. He married the love of his life, Dolores Cannon, on Oct. 25, 1952. Benny served in the Army during the Korean War. He worked for Southwestern Public Service for 42 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Palo Duro Masonic Lodge, an ordained Baptist deacon, and a member of South Georgia Baptist Church. Benny was an avid golfer, having made two holes-in-one. He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings, Bill Hargis, Loretta Stone, Tommy Scoggin and Peggy Farley. Survivors include three sons, Ken Hargis and wife Irene, Ronny Hargis and wife Lou Ann and Jim Hargis and wife Annette; nine grandchildren, Mary Landry, Melissa Burdick, Ben Hargis, Victoria Hargis, Zachary Hargis, Nicholas Hargis, Ki Hargis, Ryann Hargis and Sydni Hargis; and a great-grandchild, Ellie Burdick. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be to a favorite charity. on November 7, 2013.2

She was one of the first students enrolled in the Office Occupations Program offered by Grayson County College and was hired by the College upon graduation of the program in 1972. For 24 years she held various secretarial positions at Grayson County College until her retirement in 1996. Mrs. Farley is survived by her three sons, Richard and wife, Cynthia of San Antonio, Texas, Steve and wife, Jill of Denison and Kevin Farley and wife, Dana of Denison, Texas; one daughter, Kimi Emerson and husband, Randy of Pullman, Washington; two brothers, William Hargis and wife, Peggy of Bedford, Texas and Ben Hargis and wife, Deloris of Amarillo, Texas; two sisters, Loretta Stone and husband, Clyde of Stephenville, Texas and Virginia Scoggin and husband, Dale of Denison; nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and one very special care giver, Karen Wesley of Idabel, Oklahoma. Preceded in death by her husband Forrest on August 7, 1974. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made to the Grayson County College Foundation, 6101 Grayson Drive, Denison, Texas 75020; Home Hospice of Grayson County, 505 West Center, Sherman, Texas 75090; or Greater Dallas Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 7610 N. Stemmons Frwy., Suite 600, Dallas, Texas 75247. Grandsons, Riley Roach, Richard Farley, Kevin Farley, Canaan Farley, Cole Gatlin and Chris Gatlin will serve as pallbearers. Funeral services will be held Friday, January 21, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Fisher Funeral Chapel with Rev. Michael Murphy officiating. Interment will follow at Rosewood Cemetery in Achille, Oklahoma. Family visitation will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday, January 20, 2005 at Fisher Funeral Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Fisher Funeral Home, located at 604 West Main in Denison. on January 20, 2005.4
