     Her married name was Yates.1 Margaret Rachel Cuneo married Percy Edward Yates, son of William Edward Yates and Tiny Wade "Tiney" "Tinie" Hardy.1,2 Margaret Rachel Cuneo was born on September 1, 1914 at Red House, Charlotte Co., Virginia.2,3 She died on November 29, 2008 at Norfolk, Virginia, at age 94.3 She VIRGINIA BEACH - Margaret Cuneo Yates, 94, died peacefully Nov. 29, 2008, surrounded by family. Born in Red House, Va., she had lived in Norfolk since 1944, until moving to Virginia Beach a year ago. A devoted wife and mother, Margaret was predeceased by her husband, Percy E. Yates. She is survived by four daughters, Shirley Y. Simmons, Barbara Y. Garris and husband Jimmie, Joyce Y. Adams and husband Robert and Brenda Y. Lawrence and husband Bill. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren, with three more expected soon. Also surviving is a brother, William "Bud" Cuneo of Richmond. She was predeceased by four sisters and two brothers. Margaret was a longtime, active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She happily and generously gave many hours volunteering at local charities and hospitals through Senior Services of Southeastern Virginia. A service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in Cornerstone Baptist Church, 1500 Sewells Point Road, Norfolk, with the Rev. Fred Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach. on December 1, 2008.2

Garris, 75, passed away Monday, June 7, 2010. He was the son of the late John and Cordelia Garris. He was also predeceased by his two brothers, Franklin and John Garris. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Barbara Y. Garris; two children, Jimmie Randolph "Randy" Garris Jr. and his wife Faye of Gloucester, Donna James and her husband Stanley "Stan" of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren, Nina, Jacqueline, Cody, Courtney, Jimmie III "Jake," Cameron and Carolynne; and three great-grandchildren, Kylie, Dawson and Chamberlin. He will be greatly missed. He retired from Virginia Power with 30 years of service and worked at Norfolk and Virginia East offices. He was a member and deacon at Cornerstone Baptist Church in Norfolk. He was involved in the Norfolk Moose Lodge No. 39, Nansemond Cotillion and the Langley O.C. A service will be held Thursday, June 10, at 2 p.m. in Altmeyer Funeral Home, 5792 Greenwich Road, Virginia Beach, with the Rev. Fred Braswell officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 9, from 6 to 9 p.m. in the funeral home. on June 9, 2010.3
