Born on August 27, 1940, to the late James Anderson Reese and Eva Edith Reese, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Marvin "Kenny" Reese. Elliott is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Sylvia Reese; son, Kevin Reese; daughter, Kim Reese, and companion, Diana Rosario; grandchildren, Andrea Reese, Hope Reese, Andrew Reese, and wife, Katrina Reese; beloved dog and cat, Nitzshe (Neeshee) and Mona; sisters, Harriett ‘Boots’ Pullen and Delores Emler; several nieces and nephews; as well as beloved neighbors, Ted Jackson (like a son), Lizbeth Jackson (like a daughter), Sofia Jackson (like a granddaughter); and good friend, Leslie Jackson. He was a proud Marine for six years. After leaving the Marines, he worked as a carpenter and a machinist. His hobbies were working with leather and wood. He was also a gun enthusiast who liked to make his ammunition. Elliott enjoyed reading immensely. He especially liked to read Westerns and war stories. He was a member of the Pilot Pentecostal Holiness Church. Elliott was beloved by many on Basham Road in Pilot, where he spent over 52 years. He will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank his Basham Road Neighbors, caretakers Brenda Lyons and Karen Mabry, 9 Mountain PCU @ Roanoke Carilion Memorial Hospital, Carilion Hospice, and Centerwell Home Health. Mrs. Paxton was born Aug. 1, 1933 in Wellford, W. Virginia, the daughter of Parris and Florence (Pickering) Huffman. She married Forrest “Ray” Paxton Sr., Mar. 24, 1950 in Dunbar W. Virginia. He preceded her in death June 24, 2010. Erma had been employed at Owens-Illinois Glass Co., Streator. She was an active member of Ransom United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She attended Poca W. Virginia grade schools and Poca High School. She is survived by one daughter, Deborah (Michael) Keesee, Ransom, one son, Forrest “Ray” (Laura) Paxton Jr., Clinton, eight grandchildren and nineteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Elaine Thorn, one grandson, Joshua “Ray” Paxton, two sisters, Irene Daughety and Rosa Wright. She will be greatly missed by two special friends, Marsha Webb and Shelba Darst. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. on March 14, 2002.2
