Earl Ellsworth Fetters Sr. Earl Ellsworth Fetters, 92, of Roanoke, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 19, 2020. He was born on April 4, 1928 in Ruffs Dale, PA. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 55 years, Alma Sutphin Fetters; parents, Ellsworth and Edith Fetters; and a grandson in-law, Steven Short. Mr. Fetters served in the United States Army Infantry during the Korean War. He was a graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. He was employed at Roanoke Engraving for 12 years, Manager and Art Director of Collegiate Pacific for 20 years, and retired from Shirts and Other Stuff in 2003. He is survived by his daughter, Nancy F. Holcomb and son-in-law, Timothy; grandchildren, Ashley Short, T. Scott Holcomb and wife, Anna Brooks; and Amanda Holcomb; five great grandchildren, Avery, Carson and Grayson Short, and Harper and Elizabeth Holcomb; sister-in-law, Golda Kanode. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 1 p.m. in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road, Roanoke, VA. Edyth Louise Jennings Edythe Earwood, Apr 27, 1930 - Oct 19, 2012. Edythe Louise Jennings Earwood, 82, died Friday October 19, 2012 in Asheville. A native of Carroll County, Virginia, she had resided in Buncombe County since 1958, retired from nursing services at St. Josephs Hospital and previously worked at Highland Hospital. She was a member of Abernethy United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener and will be remembered for her handwork, her storytelling and her humor. Mrs. Earwood was a daughter of the late Harrison and Amanda Jennings and wife of the late James Earwood. Surviving are her son, Roy Richardson and wife Carolyn of Candler, grandchildren, Amanda Deweese and husband Chris and Emily Richardson all of Asheville; sisters, Alma Easter of Cana, VA and Mildred Norman and husband Paul of Hillsville, VA and several nieces and nephews. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict, and a member of the Church of Christ. Mr. Earwood was a retired lab technician with over 52 years experience. He is survived by his wife, Edythe Louise Jennings Earwood of the home; four children, 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild; two sisters, Geraldlne Crandell and Jean Mundy. He was preceded In death by two brothers, Dr. Luther Earwood of Asheboro and Herman Earwood, and a sister, Asllee Earwood Emory of Ashevllle. Graveside services will be at Cane Creek Cemetery with the Buncombe County Voluntary Memorial Team rendering military honors. on August 24, 1998.4

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Vaughan-Guynn-McGrady Chapel with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Liberty Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, one hour prior to the funeral service. on January 26, 2010.2
