She was born Oct. 30, 1917, in Rushville, one of seven children of the late Cecil and Lillian Catlin. She was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church and was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and taking care of her flowers. She is survived by a daughter, Betty J. Harmon, South Bend, Ind; three sons and daughters in law, Lewis and Gretchen Scholl, Spencer, Ind., Donald and Golda Scholl, Connersville, and Paul and Peg Scholl, St. Louis, Mo; a sister, Helen Gladstone; and seven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, John M. Scholl, to whom she was married in 1936. He passed away in 1987. She is also preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel, Betty, Rena and Ruth, and a brother Gilbert. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home with the Rev. William Peterson officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery. Friends may visit at the funeral home from 4-7 P.M. on Wednesday. on December 7, 2010.²

Lorene Sage; she died in 1998. Survivors include his daughters, Joann L. Kirby and Dorothy Donnell; six grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, JoAnne Sage; his children, Daniel J. Sage (Carole), Mikki Harper (Gary), Phillip J. Sage, and Stephen D. Sage (Amy); daughter-in-law, Robin Sage; grandchildren, Zachery, Madison, Lillian, Matthew, Tony, Carole, Danielle, Oriah, Siddartha, Tamar, and Charity; and several great-grandchildren. on September 10, 2016.²
