Jack is survived by his daughters, Rhonda Campbell, Leecena Griffith and her husband, Kevin; and sons, Jack L. Campbell Jr., Dustin C. Campbell and wife, Dana; along with several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his best little buddy Yorkshire Terrier, Pebbles. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army and the Korean War. Upon returning from the Army, Jack served his community as a law enforcement officer in the City of Roanoke and Commonwealth of Virginia as a correctional officer. Jack will be laid to rest at the Albert G. Horton Memorial Veterans Cemetery in Suffolk, Va. on January 24, 2020.5

She was born on April 1, 1914, to the late Edward and Nannie Dooley Wade and was also predeceased by her beloved husband, Les; sister, Audrey Wade Sears; brother, Herman Lee Wade; and a sister-in-law, Flossie Shepherd Wade. Surviving is a son, Leslie (Sonny) W. Campbell Jr., of Roanoke. Also surviving are many beloved nieces, nephews, family members and friends. She will be especially missed by her nephew and his wife, Jack and Betty Campbell; and her niece and her husband, Ahwanda (Wally) and Nick Jamison and their children, Jennifer Jamison Craver and John Jamison. A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, November 14, 2008, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with Dr. Wayne Sellers officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. Mr. Crawford was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Craig County a son of the late Charles H. and Emma Adams Crawford. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Roy Crawford, Maynard Crawford, Theron Crawford and Harold Crawford and two sisters, Marie Hill and Phyllis Porter. Jake had retired from MeadWestvaco as a maintenance mechanic in 1982 after 43 years with the company. He was a veteran of World War II with the United States Navy in the Pacific Theater and was a longtime member of Curtis A. Smith Post #1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a member of McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and Elder. He was a former member of Covington City Council. He was a retired member of the Westvaco Rescue Squad and Fire Department and had served as Vice President of Union Local 675. Jake loved to hunt, fish, garden and talk politics. Surviving are his Wife of 72 years, Mildred Key Crawford, of Covington; his Son and Daughter-in-law, Darrell and Ruth Crawford, of Covington; three Daughters and Sons-in-law, Donna and Doug Arrington of Covington, Tammy and Jerry Ferris and Emmy and Dean Baker all of Blue Ridge; five grandchildren, Shane Crawford, Shannon Crawford and wife, Lora, Joshua Steffeyand wife, Stephanie, Savannah Yaussand husband, Stephen, and Chelsea Broce; three great grandchildren, Marley Crawford, Dakota Crawford and Hunter Steffey; one Brother, Charles Denver "Denny" Crawford and his Wife, Evan, of Madison, WI; one Sister, Frances Brouse, and her Husband, Tommy, of Sanford, NC, and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held Wednesday at 2 PM, April 16, 2014 in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating assisted by Rev. Mike Fleenor. Interment was made in the Suck Springs Baptist Church Cemetery at Bedford at 4 PM with graveside rites conducted by Lynchburg Post 16 of the American Legion. The family received their friends for one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at Arritt Funeral Home. The family suggests that donations in Mr. Crawford's name be made to Mountain Regional Hospice; P.O. 637; Clifton Forge, VA 24422. on April 23, 2014.2

     Harold Willis Crawford was buried at Persinger Memorial Cemetery, Covington, Alleghany Co., Virginia.2 He married Clara Lorene Bush.2 Harold Willis Crawford was born on February 17, 1926 at Craig Co., Virginia.2 He died on September 28, 2013 at Virginia at age 87.2 He Harold Willis Crawford, 87, of Covington, died Saturday, September 28, 2013. Mr. Crawford was born February 17, 1926, in Craig County, a son of the late Charles and Emma Adams Crawford. He was a veteran of World War II with the United States Navy and was a longtime member of Curtis A. Smith Post #1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had retired in 1991 from MeadWestvaco in Covington after 48 years with the company. He was a founding member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Covington where he has served as a Trustee and Deacon. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Lorene Bush Crawford in 1989, and also by three brothers and one sister. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Meg Crawford of Covington; three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Danny Morrow of Campobello, S.C., Christy and Allen Johnson of Chester and Cynthia and Tony Scialoia of Covington; seven grandchildren, Adona Baker, Matt Crawford, Travis Crawford, Luke Crawford and Garrett Crawford, all of Covington, Missi Pryor of Campobello, S.C. and Danielle Murray of Inman, S.C; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jake Crawford of Covington, Denny Crawford of Madison, Wis; two sisters, Phyllis Porter of Mauldin, S.C. and Frances Brouse of Sanford, N.C., and a number of nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 1, 2013, in the Chapel of Arritt Funeral Home in Covington with the Rev. Bill Gilliland officiating. Interment will be made in the Persinger Memorial Cemetery with graveside rites by Curtis A. Smith Post #1033, Veterans of Foreign Wars. The family will receive their friends Monday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Arritt Funeral Home. The family suggests that donations in Mr. Crawford's name be made to the New Hope Baptist Church; 1403 S. Dee St; Covington, VA 24426. on September 29, 2013.2
