He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and owner of Sowers Paving Inc. and retired from Lynchburg Foundry with 37 years of service. He was a United States Army veteran having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a very giving and loving man and will be missed by his family and community. He was preceded in death by his wife, Doris Wickham Sowers; brothers, H. C. and Tommy Sowers; and sisters, Virginia Small and Gertrude Buckland. Survivors include his daughter, Rita S. Quesenberry; son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Marie Sowers; grandchildren, Charlie Quesenberry, Jessie (Donald) Norris, Katie Hinkley and Daniel Sowers Jr; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Mae and Faith Ann Norris, and Skylar, Cole and Kaven Hinkley ; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Ray and Barbara Sowers of Radford; sisters and brothers-in-law, Norma Jean Bishop of Radford, Walton Buckland of Baytown, Texas, Lilly Mae Trigg of Dearborn, Mich., and Mary Ann and Lakie Linkous of Radford. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Radford with the Rev. Brian Cockram and the Rev. O. D. Morgan officiating. Interment will follow in West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home. on March 25, 2013.2

Bobby proudly served in the United States Army. He retired from Federal Mogul and Hubbell Lighting. He was an avid sportsman and race car fan. Bobby was a friend to all and will be missed by many. Bobby is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judy E. Cole; his son, Travis; daughter, Sabrina; and granddaughter, Galen Cole. He is survived by two brothers and their wives, Charles E. and Dot Cole, Georgia, Lee and Norma Cole, Pilot; his sister-in-law, Connie E. Turner, Christiansburg; mother-in-law, Alma H. Epperly, Roanoke. He is also survived by several special nieces and nephews. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, Doug and Vada Cole in 1963; his infant daughter, Tracie, in 1976, and his brother, Don, in 1999. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital and, most especially, the 2nd floor nursing and respiratory staff for their care and concern during his illness. The family deeply appreciates the services of Dr. Harry E. McCoy and his staff and Dr. Jose' Rivero. The family will receive friends Tuesday, May 2, 2006 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. She is survived by her father and mother, Larry and Glenda Lawrence of Christiansburg; sister and brother-in-law, Jill and Trevan Zosel of Bothell,Wash; her much loved niece and nephew, Toriana and Bryson; her paternal grandparents, Marvin and Ramona Lawrence of Blacksburg; numerous aunts and uncles; 12 special cousins, one of whom was extra special to her, Takara Howard. We would also like to thank Rebekah Hall who has been her caretaker and friend for the past three and a half years. Rebekah helped Michele with her chores and took her out into the community for activities which Michele enjoyed. Rebekah always came in with a smile and Michele loved her so much. Michele endured many health issues in her lifetime, however she kept an upbeat attitude. She had a big heart for children and animals and most importantly she loved and trusted her heavenly Father. Funeral Services will be conducted Monday, June 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Michele's honor may be made to Intellectual Disabilities Agency of the NRV, P O Box 42, Christiansburg, VA 24068.
