This site began as a work of love to formally document handwritten genealogy charts that were passed down to me by my grandparents on both my mother's and father's side of my family. Two decades later, it has grown beyond anything I could have possibly imagined. I have been mentored and assisted by many people along the way, far too many to mention individually. However, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the incredible generosity of my cousin Mary Frances Conner Williams of Pulaski, Virginia. Without her crucial early help and guidance, a project of the size and complexity would have been impossible.

The major ancestors that anchor this tree are Daniel Conner (~1736-~1814), probably from Ireland, who settled in what is now Floyd County, Virginia, and Leo Schaffer (1860-1934) from Austria who settled in Charleston, West Virginia.
