This site began as a work of love to formally document handwritten genealogy charts that were passed down to me by my grandparents on both my mother's and father's side of my family. Twenty-five years later, it has grown beyond anything I could have possibly imagined. I have been mentored and assisted by many people along the way, far too many to mention individually. However, I would be remiss if I did not acknowledge the incredible generosity of my cousin, the late Mary Frances Conner Williams of Pulaski, Virginia. Without her crucial early help and guidance, a project of the size and complexity would have been impossible. I miss you Mary but your work will live on in these pages.
The major ancestors that anchor this tree are Daniel Conner (~1736-~1814), probably from Ireland, who settled in what is now Floyd County, Virginia, and Leo Schaffer (1860-1934) from Austria who settled in Charleston, West Virginia.
